Castillo Clavijo Garnacha Blanca

D.O.C.a Rioja

Grape Variety

100% Garnacha Blanca.

Harvest

Manual, in small cases during beginning of September.

Vineyards

A selection of younger vines with average age of 20 years located in Rioja (villages of San Vicente, Clavijo, Alberite) and planted in very poor soils and at higher altitudes in order to maximize the variety’s fresh, fruity nature.

Vinification

Clusters are macerated at low temperature in stainless steel tanks and the resulting free-run juice is fermented at controlled temperature of 14°C and then kept on its fine lees for at least 4 months before bottling.

Tasting Notes

A veritable curiosity worth discovering since there are only around 250 ha. of this unique and exclusive variety left in Rioja. Fresh and complex wine, including pear and white peach aromas along with some citrus and salty mineral notes. On the palate it will be plump and rich, pairing perfectly with rich spiced dishes for example Spanish, Indian or Asian food.
